The Gulf Collection for Sebiet

The Gulf Collection for Sebiet

At Sebiet, sustainability meets design in the Gulf Lamp, crafted entirely from recycled plastic sourced in The Netherlands and Belgium.

The Journey

Creating the Gulf Lamp was no simple feat. Using a large pellet printer, we fed shredded plastic pellets into the machine, transforming them into a stunning piece of lighting art. The process came with its share of challenges, especially when printing the lamp upside down. This required innovative solutions to handle the overhang, particularly while integrating the lamp’s unique waving pattern.

Inspired by the 70s

Our design vision for the Gulf Lamp was heavily inspired by the 1970s aesthetic, emphasizing a retro look with a transparent glow. The flowing, wave-like structure of the lamp evokes the motion of water. To enhance this connection, we started with a color palette of blue and greenish hues, reminding us of the sea—a direct nod to its name, Gulf.

A New Wave in Sustainability

The Gulf Lamp represents our commitment to pushing the boundaries of sustainable design while honoring timeless styles. Each piece is a blend of environmental responsibility and artistic creativity, making it not just a lamp but a statement.
